Measure and Identify a Euro/DIN Cylinder
Identify a Euro/DIN cylinder, measure both sides, and check the emergency function, projection, clearance, and operation required by an exact smart-lock model.
Read guideCompatibility library
Identify regional cylinder profiles, measure a candidate door, and check whether a smart lock can complete its real locking sequence.
A profile name is only the first compatibility check. A smart lock also has to fit the cylinder and door, turn the mechanism it is attached to, and support the way the door is secured and opened. UK and European doors may use similar-looking cylinders with different dimensions, cams, keys, handles, and locking sequences.
Physical fit, cylinder function, lock-case operation, and electronic features answer different questions. A Euro-profile cylinder can still be too long, have the wrong cam, lack a required emergency function, or sit in a lock case that needs a handle lifted before the key turns. A product page that names a profile does not establish that the complete installed door will work.
Compare the exact product and regional variant with its current compatibility guide. If the mechanism or required operation is still unclear, record the result as unverified and ask the manufacturer or a qualified locksmith before buying or changing hardware.
