Does My Deadbolt Match a Smart Lock Compatibility List?

Use a manufacturer’s tested or verified deadbolt list without mistaking list membership for a complete door-fit or code result.

Jump to a section

A manufacturer’s tested or verified list can narrow the search, but each list belongs to one product. Identify both the existing lock and the exact smart-lock model before treating a row as relevant.

A safe compatibility-list lookup: identify the door lock, select the exact smart product, read its list, then verify the actual door

Lists answer different questions

Manufacturer source What to check
Yale Approach list The page is limited to named single-cylinder deadbolts and includes model, generation, and low-profile qualifications. A Yale entry does not apply to another retrofit.
August list Check the exact model and the listed age or profile qualifications. Its Yale 4881N19FR exception is limited to the August Wi-Fi Smart Lock.
Level Bolt table The table identifies a version and has a field for necessary modifications. Verify the current row, finish, and any modification for the exact lock.
Kwikset Convert chart The official chart carries a 2021 copyright line and shows door thicknesses of 1-3/8 or 1-3/4 inches, not a continuous range. Check current instructions too.
Original Wyze Lock guide This page lists brands and broad limits, not every model. It is for the original Wyze Lock retrofit, not Lock Bolt v2 or Wyze Palm Lock.

Three separate conclusions: exact-list membership, measured-door fit, and local egress or fire-door approval

Check the row, then check the door

  1. Find the lock’s exact brand, model, generation, and inside mechanism. A trim style or brand name alone may not identify it.
  2. Open the current list for the exact smart-lock product and market. Do not substitute another product from the same brand.
  3. Match every qualification, including finish or variant, low-profile shape, date range, adapter, and required modification.
  4. If the lock is missing, keep the result unknown unless the manufacturer explicitly says otherwise. Ask support with the model and measurements rather than treating an incomplete list as a rejection.
  5. Even a listed match still needs the exact installation template, door and strike measurements, clearance, and normal operation checks. A fit list is not an egress or fire-door approval.

Use the preparation worksheet for the door measurements and the retrofit comparison to choose the installation path.
