Nuki Smart Lock Models: Cylinder, Deadbolt, and Lift-Handle Boundaries

Compare documented Nuki deadbolt, Ultra, and Ultra Nordics fit boundaries while keeping lift-handle operation and connectivity model-specific.

Nuki’s family name alone does not identify the door mechanism or installation path. The US Smart Lock for Deadbolt fits over an existing single-cylinder deadbolt, while Smart Lock Ultra replaces a cylinder using its included Universal Cylinder. Ultra Nordics has its own Scandinavian cylinder checks. Use the guide for the exact product and market; do not move dimensions or fit claims from one family to another.

Three separate fit-guide starting points: US single-cylinder deadbolt, Euro or Swiss round cylinder, and Scandinavian profile with a deadbolt.

Choose a path by the named product and door hardware. This map narrows which manufacturer guide to open; it is not a fit verdict.

Match the named model to its documented door path

Named product and guide Documented boundary to check
Smart Lock for Deadbolt, US Fits over the inside of an existing single-cylinder deadbolt with an inside thumbturn. Nuki’s guide says to check the frame and handle clearance around the deadbolt: more than 1.38 in on the inside for each, and more than 1.58 in from the deadbolt center to the outside frame and 1.38 in to the outside handle. Use the guide’s diagram to confirm the exact measurement points. It is for interior use.
Smart Lock Ultra Uses the included Universal Cylinder in place of the existing cylinder. The cited guide covers Euro-profile and Swiss-round cylinders, not every cylinder or lock case. It sets maximum inside length at 68 mm and outside length at 55 mm, measured from retaining screw to door plate without including cylinder overhang. Its clearance screen is more than 30 mm to the inside frame and handle, more than 40 mm to the outside frame, and more than 30 mm to the outside handle. Follow the guide’s drawing and fitting instructions.
Smart Lock Ultra Nordics A distinct Nordic variant for the listed Scandinavian oval or round cylinder arrangements with a key or thumbturn on the inside. A deadbolt is required; a latch-only lock is listed as incompatible. Its clearances are more than 30 mm to the inside frame and handle, more than 40 mm to the outside frame, and more than 30 mm to the outside handle. Check the Nordics guide for the exact profile and orientation.

These screens are not a full lock-case, multipoint, or market matrix. Measure the installed hardware at the points shown in the named guide, confirm that the lock performs the required action, and check any cylinder replacement or key needs before purchase. If the door’s profile, operation, or clearance is not covered, leave the result unknown rather than transferring another Nuki model’s dimensions.

A lift-up handle still needs a person

On some lift-up-handle doors, Nuki’s setup instructions describe pulling the latch after the user has raised the handle. The motor does not lift the handle. The person must lift it before the locking function can operate; Nuki’s note does not establish that every multipoint mechanism or door state is supported.

A three-step sequence: the user lifts the door handle, then the Nuki motor turns the lock; the motor does not lift the handle.

Treat lifting the handle as a required user action where the setup guide calls for it. Confirm the exact lock case and required locking sequence.

Keep connectivity separate from cylinder fit

Nuki’s app shows a Smart Lock generation under Settings, Features & Configuration, General. Generation and model affect remote-access options: some products use built-in Wi-Fi, some use Matter over Thread with a Thread border router, and some need a Nuki Bridge. Nuki’s current support table distinguishes these paths; check the named model, app, router band, and platform requirements for the feature you want.

Model-specific remote-control routes shown as direct Wi-Fi, a Thread hub, or a Nuki Bridge.

This overview illustrates different network routes; it does not assign a route to every Nuki model. Confirm the exact generation in Nuki’s current remote-access table.

For a useful compatibility record, save the product label and generation, market guide, cylinder profile, inside and outside dimensions, clearance measurements, door action, and required user steps. Record mechanical fit, operation, and electronics as separate results. Start with the exact-model checklist and use the pairwise door-fit method before treating a setup as supported.
