eufy Smart Lock C32: Check the Interior-Door Boundary

Review eufy's stated indoor-use warning and unresolved C32 preparation details before considering this lock.

Jump to a section

eufy’s US product page describes the Smart Lock C32 as an indoor-door lock and says it is not recommended for front doors. It also says the lock is unsuitable for doors exposed to rain or without overhead protection. Treat this use boundary as a reason to rule out the C32 for an exterior entry door, even if a few listed measurements appear to match.

eufy’s stated C32 use boundary separates interior doors from front doors and rain-exposed locations

Keep the model and preparation unresolved

The same page calls the product “FamiLock C32” in its FAQ, while the page title and comparison call it “Smart Lock C32.” The FAQ lists a 2-1/8 inch bore and 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inch backset, but prints door thickness as “1 3/8 in - 2 1/6 in.” Do not silently correct that unusual value or treat these partial fields as a full installation template. Confirm the exact model and measurements in current instructions before considering an interior installation.

The page lists direct 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, four AA batteries, Alexa and Google Home, and says Apple HomeKit, IFTTT, and Matter are not supported “yet.” Those statements may change and do not override the stated interior use. Its IP53 listing is not permission to install the C32 on a rain-exposed or unprotected exterior door.

For another eufy model, verify that model’s own instructions; do not transfer the C32 limit or measurements. For a specific door, compare its complete preparation and operation with the exact lock guide using the pairwise fit method.
